| QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK For most people, the toughest question is, what should I be asking? Lots of questions. We've been involved in ozone laundry since its inception over 10 years ago. While IndustrOzone has systems that have been in operation upwards of 10 years, if we look at all the ozone laundry systems installed by the various suppliers over the last 10 plus years, candidly, the industry has seen more failures than successes. Why?
If you ask the right questions up front, you'll assure your chances for a pleasant ozone laundry experience. GENERAL: A. How old is the company? B. How long has your oldest system been running? C. What industry relations do you have, i.e. chemical companies and washing equipment manufacturers and dealers? Ask for names and specifics. SERVICE: A. What maintenance is required? B. How can I tell the system is working properly? C. Who does your service?
D. Describe your procedures for working with my chemical representative. SYSTEM DESIGN: A. How do you control the level of ozone in the wash? B. How does your system apply the ozone to the laundry and what are the pros and cons of your design? C. What water quality issues can impact my results? D. How do these water quality issues effect results? E. How do you protect against ozone off-gas exposure in the laundry? REFERENCES: A. Ask for references of similar properties to yours with similar washers and chemical suppliers. B. When talking to a reference, ask them specifics on water/sewer and energy savings after the installation. C. Make sure chemical costs have not increased and that formula times haven't been lengthened. D. Talk to someone who works with the laundry system daily. E. Most importantly, visit the property. We have visited many ozone laundry systems where management says all is well, but the washers are hot to the touch, indicating use of hot water negating the primary benefit. |
